Wonderful World of Mahabharatha

Most of the Indians know the story of Mahabharatha at least the storyline though not in detail. Something urged me to read the complete story of Mahabharatha and obviously i had to go with english version to read unless if i liked to read for one whole year to complete the book (Yes, I am ashamed to say that I am poor in reading in my native language).

What a wonderful experience i had through the journey of reading the book which is almost 1000 pages. I enjoyed each moment of it as I felt like entering into deep water, water that are at once soothing and stimulating to both heart and mind. A World where gods and heroes walk the earth, where virtuous kings lead the people, delivering profound lessons about every aspects of life.

When i started the book i never thought that it would be so enthralling, wondering how i missed such an experience all these days. There are lot of highlighting conversations in the book about life, soul, cause and effect of our action which applies even now in the 21st Century. At one place Akrura a sage advises Dhritarastra as"Over-attachment for one's close relatives is simply born of ignorance. Every creature in the world is born alone and dies alone. He experiences the results of his own good and evil deeds and in the end leaves the present body to accept another". And in one another place Vyasadeva says "The wise do not remember an enemy's hostility. Instead, they see only the good in them. Only the worst of men use harsh words in quarrel, while the superior men do not react when provoked". There are so many thoughtful conversations and discussions through out the book. How true are these statements and it applies for generations to come in future.

There is a separate chapter for Bhagavad Gita which briefly explains what Krishna communicates to Arjuna at Kurukshetra just when the war is about to begin. Extra Ordinary speech by the Supreme. Certainly one chapter is not enough to explain the intense speech, but the book explains it in short which is good enough to stimulate your mind.

I reckon everyone irrespective of your age to read the book 'The Mahabharata' written by Krishna Dharma. There is always an illusion or false belief in other words, where some people think only those who are dispirited in life would read the book. Stupid thought!!! Period.

Welcome 2012!!

Its been quite a long time that i engage myself in drafting a blog. I am also very passive in social network too.
New year has started very calm and polite to me. Neither any big changes from what i was nor any big events to come in the near future.
Year 2011 had many good occasions in my life. Sister's marriage, my on-site opportunity, house registration and car purchase. But still the one which i am longing for is yet to happen. Had lot of positive thoughts that my anticipatory moment would have come last year. But god thinks the other way.
Nothing big i expect in this year expect the one which i am longing for a long time. Will 2012 be the year for me? Will things turn round the way i want to?? With lot of hopes keeping the fingers crossed... wishing you all a happy new year. (belated happy new year :))

The Fantastive Five people of my life

Warning: This blog contains some intense sentiments and those who have aversion over sentiments and expect some adventures, actions, comedies or any other sort can please skip this blog. :)

Every individual has their own set of people who inspires and motivates to move up in their life both professionally and also as a man with good humanity. Here are the five most inspiring personalities of my life.

Kannan Srinivasan
The first time when i felt lucky to be born as i am in my life was when i realized the character of my father. Not just because he is my father, but for his extra ordinary principles and character. His honesty in everything, sincerity in work (sometimes i feel it extreme where he doesn't even prefers to bring a sheet of paper from office for personal use) even at the age of 57 that too working as a government employee where there is every chance to relax yourself at work, truthful to everyone and above all a person with great patience to handle people and situation, just lifted him up in his life. I have seen many of his friends who didn't consider him just as a friend but a role model. To specifically mention one such person is Mr. Jaganathan. He said me your father is such a great person. To me and for the many in the office he is a role model for his humanity and sincerity. its really rare to see such person and you are very lucky to get him as your father. I felt enraptured to hear that. At times when i see some people who go behind promotion and position to reach as a leader to control their colleagues i always remember my father who is simple yet has followers to follow his way of life. Mr. Kannan , you are simply the best. I hope i have made you proud in the past (not sure at present :)) , but certainly you made me proud and you are my first hero.

Narayani
My grand mother shown me the depth of patience that everyone must have to succeed in life. She falls under the category of people, who came up in life from no where to an inspirational person by their character. She never ever likes to think bad about her enemy even, if at all she had. Whenever i am in anger or get irritated for any reason i remember her and try to calm myself. I know its tough  to be like her but strive to be.

Allah Rakha Rahman
I have already written a blog how ecstatic i feel when i hear his music in this blog.  All i can say is, his music is driving me everyday what ever be my mindset. I cannot imagine a world without his music.

Senthamil Selvan
I felt like  writing a blog about this person long back. But he was my manager and i dont want the true credit about him to go in a way that i blandish him to get hike or what ever. I am least bothered about their useless talks, but the realness about him must not go in vain for this silly thought by some crazy people. He is a manager who is very practical. I have never seen him talking bad about anybody and whatever difficulty he faces (both in professional and personal), he handles it patiently. He is an example of one such person whom Abdul Kalam talks in the below video. Nothing else i have to talk about him. Hats off Senthamil!! You are a true leader. I adore you and i want to be a leader like you in the future if at all i become.

And about the final living being, i have lot to talk, but now its not the situation to express it out in public. There are certain complex things and when the time comes i will surely post exclusively about this creature :)

What they gonna do with those money??

Before i enter into the college days i use to wonder why people say school days and college days are the best to enjoy. I always believed we could continue the same style of life even after completing our graduation. My college days were also same as most of you had. With so much fun and excitement almost everyday, we as a gang roam around the city without bothering about the money, who is spending it and how much each spent on what purpose.
Once we completed the education and started earning, gradually things started changing. Initially, we spent money on dresses, movies and electronic gadgets. Then slowly we started budgetting ourselves on the monthly salary and tried to commit ourselves on various things like buying house, gold, savings for sister marriage, brother's education etc etc which are quite obvious and natural.
But one thing i could not accept is when i see many penny pincher to whom i had to go with for various reasons. These hoarders go to the extend that they are ready to put their hand in the shit to take a paise if its available.
In the recent years, i come across so many misers who are ready to buy dresses in second hand though they earn more than they deserve. The worse thing is these buggers pretend themselves as though they earn for the well being of others. All i demand them is even if you are miser there is nothing wrong, but when you act as though you are a person with generosity is totally unacceptable. Sometimes i feel like asking what you gonna do with these money? Are you going to take this when you die? Do you really think its an achievement to buy more than a house by being a niggard?? But then by asking or advicing them wont do any good except that they either question me as am i perfect or they gonna say its not my business.
Well i can only say i am not a spendthrift and at the same time i am not like these skinflint sacrificing the enjoyment and the life just for money. And yes this is none of my business to ask these guys and thats why i am writing here in my own independent space.

Hope i dont come across any more misers in my close environment of my life...

All is not well

I started on July 23rd to Denver. Unlike last visit this is my long term trip. With just one week before i got to know as long term, i made all arrangements to sell all my things and bought many stuffs for the US visit. As my father's promotional transfer is on the verge, not sure when i come back my parents will be in the same place where they were for the past 35 years. With some very important personal unfilled commitment i left USA with the hope that things will get smooth and in line one day with God's grace.
The problem started from Day 1 when i went to apply for SSN.The Social Security Administration office pointed out an issue that i left the family name blank in the i94 form. I left it blank knowingly as i don't have any family name. Instead it should have been my last name. The work elongated going back to Homeland Security office and back to SSA office.
The very next day i had severe throat pain and fever. I didn't go to office for a day and half. With the pain  excruciating, i went to hospital last night and got to know its some tonsil infection which happens through air or water. I got the medication to be followed for the next ten days and hopefully things will get settled as the days pass on.
With already one week being passed away, i have to start working full fledged to my satisfaction.

Who will win the World Cup 2011?

World Cup 2011 is a vital tournament as for as 50 overs format is concerned. The previous One-day World cup was held in the year 2007. In this span of four years, cricket faced an acute diversion in the interest among the viewers. The Twenty Twenty format is dominating the cricket world. No one can deny that Test cricket has its own dignity and in my opinion it is not in jeopardy.
It is the One-day game which is facing the real test for survival. I hope this World Cup will be a real boost to bring its pride back.
So who will be the Champions?? The answer was so easy when posted prior to last World Cup as Aussies were imperious then. Now its anybody's Cup.
Australia as i said earlier was magisterial and the World Cup Final was never a thriller except the 2007 World Cup where Sangakkara and Jayasuria had put some pressure in the inital stage. But now its totally different. They have a mediocre bowling attack. None of them have a consistent rhythm or length to generate pressure to the opponent. Compared to Test cricket, they have a decent batting line up in the one day format. But its never sufficient to lift the cup. To me Australia will positively make up to the semis, not more than that.
South Africa on the other hand have a lustrous line up of both batting and bowling. Experienced players like Kallis, Smith and Amla topping the order followed by some big hitters in the middle. Their pace bowlers are pretty much promising. But they lack in good threatening spinners which is very much imperative especially in the sub continental pitch. Also they show very poor game play when they are under pressure. But for that, I feel they have a good chance of entering into the finals.
Coming to Sri lanka, if you had noticed they march towards the victory as an extra ordinary team effort when it comes to some champions trophy where all the countries participate. And now its more advantageous for them as they are well versed in sub-continental pitch. They have the upper hand over almost all the other teams in reaching the finals.
To me India is my favorite country to lift the Cup. I wont say they have a strong batting or bowling line up, but its really a promising side. Yuvaraj and Pathan's role are very important and if its India that is going to take the Cup away then these two guys have to be in good form.
Teams like England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand are very much unpredictable. They may rise up or shatter down.

World Cup 2011 should be for India in my opinion. With fingers crossed, waiting for the event to kick start.

Careless Chennai Corporation

The Pongal festival week is over and people are back to work after a long weekend. But still the chennai corporation or the concerned private body who takes up the action of cleaning the city is still enjoying the Pongal holidays i guess. I see the pongal has aggravated the situation of streets used as garbage dump. The waste materials are littered all along the road sides.
My dinners are usually in some kaiyenthi bavans. Unfortunately, i am not able to have it there as the surroundings are so worst and unpleasant. City is getting more prone to diseases and viral fevers. Almost all the political parties have started their campaigning for the election 2011. But the very basic necessity of city cleanliness is not taken care.
Indians use to say India is moving closer to the status of developed country. I can tell you no way we shall be proud in saying that unless these small small inevitable things are fixed up by the government. Politicians have profound care about their environment with uninterrupted electricity, distill water supply and clear road facility. But they are least bothered about the people, the country and their brotherhood.

India is getting ruined!!!

Happy New Decade

Wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year!!!

As the day has come to Welcome 2011, looking back to what happened personally in the last decade, i wonder whether i am standing in the place where i intended to be. Last decade i accede it was above average, completing my under graduation in a decent college, making a good growth in the job i do and above all i was mostly with friends having great fun.

This decade i perceive myself in a different way. With friends getting settled at various places around the world and some getting married, i look myself more as a responsible individual rather than a callow youth.

Having said that, something in my mind keeps on pestering me that i must do something more... something more to myself... something which makes me satisfied... Should i have to excel more in my job??? or should i get married and lead a normal conventional life?? i don't think those will let me happy or make me complete... i want to learn more... learn more about life.. about what happiness is.. how to be calm and placid... know more about our inner happiness rather than just fun filled external parties and movies..

This solitary period has actuated me to read more books. Increased my reading habit which gives me big pleasure. Books which teaches you what the inner happiness mean and how to sustain it all through your life rather than being happy for some days and dying out few days. Slowly the way i look my life and my world are getting changed... i can foresee my life and my happiness is gonna be much different compared to last decade.

With great positive energy and hope i wish everyone a happy new year and new decade

Ride in the Rain

It was a real fun driving in ECR with rain pouring continuously. Today, I hardly had a clear vision and with my whole body covered with rain coat i had a different experience of riding my bike. Raising the speed made the water droplets falling onto my skin with rapid force and so i couldn't move more than 40km/hr.
I saw a tea shop and halted my bike for a while and had a hot tea. Though the taste was not that good, the hot with steam from the glass in such a weather made my five rupees worthy. Everytime when i cross a bridge the wind was too violent that i had to hold my handle bar more tight and stiff.. At some places i had a fear that i may lose my control... But the lonely ride made me more independent and relaxed...

The Ashes Fever

The Ashes Fever has started from this week and well what a start to prove again that the contest is between the cricket's oldest rivalry.Wicket in the first over by Australia and then two gutsy fifties followed by a hat trick by Peter Siddle on his birthday.
The last season which happened in 2009 was a celebration for the English people though with an unfortunate departure of Flintoff from Test Cricket after that wonderful series for him. I don't think Engand is missing him anyway as they got a balanced team to give enough pressure to the underdog Aussies.
Unusually, Australians didn't ignite the verbal war before the start of this series. May be they are feeling the heat to face England with not much confidence and form among the players. What ever... Its time for England to retain the trophy and make punter to prepare his resume...

Casino at Black hawk,Colorado

Today i went to play Casino at Black Hawk with my team mates. It was an hour drive from my place. First time i went in a convertible car and the sunny day with cool wind made the drive more comfortable.
We were in the town at 830 am and the first casino we went was Red Dolly. It was not as big as i expected. Not many people were there as we were early. I was looking at how my team mates were playing initially. Then i started picking up some random slots. i lost $3 there in Red Dolly.
Then we moved to Gilpin Hotel Casino. There i played with $10 at different slots and made $35 gaining $15. i was so happy and as we moved to the next casino i think its Golden Casino or something, i was tempted to play with more dollars and i invested all the $35 and could end up with only $20 in hand.
By the time we decided to end up the playing it was 2 pm. i was surprised. This game is eating up the time. Though i didn't make any money it was fun. I like it.
Had i been to US for a long term i might be spending a Saturday a month in this, playing at least with $75.
The music that the Casino machine makes is tempting us to play more invest more... Feeling like i want to visit Vegas soon... :)

Allah Rakha Rahman- You are truely my god...

This man A R Rahman, i want to ask him 'from did you come?? where have you been all these days?? '.. i just love him because of his music.. This evening just after coming from office i felt really depressed due to some personal reasons. i felt very lonely. As Rajni says jovially 'i was cornered' kind of feeling... With no other work i could concentrate i just started hearing this guy's music. Oh man... no words to explain the feeling i had.. i was so happy and felt really ecstatic myself for no god damn reason.
This is not the first time i have this kind of feeling because of his music. But then today its something extra ordinary. When ever i am in trouble he is there to rescue me. His music is more than enough for me to face any difficulty in my life.
Rahman.. You are my god.. I love you so much...

I am in The USA for first time

Its been a month i came here to Denver for a short term business assignment. This is the first place i am staying outside my motherland. I love this beautiful greenish city.

The company has given me a luxurious double bedroom apartment with almost all the facilities like WiFi connection, refrigerator, washing machine and cushion firm mattress, television with cable etc..

Just behind the apartment there is a park to hang out with. i am not sure about the name but i can tell you its the perfect park to relax yourself after the tiresome work at office.

Obviously without car its very difficult to manage here. But my manager Sreenath stays with me in the apartment who is taking me to the stores nearby to buy groceries and help me in.

I can tell you that i have come at the right season to USA as the climate is almost like Indian climate but of course not with such unbearable humidity as in India. I can say the Denver climate is like Woman's mind. You can see the sun, rain, breeze and cold everything in a single day and you cannot guess how it would be at any point of time.

The city cleanliness is amazing with flowers and grass along the road. I cannot find a single flaw with the facilities the Colorado government has provided to the people.

Having told all these, there is one thing that's bugging me since i am here. It the Liveliness. I don't know whether its because i am alone here without my friends and my beloved one. i don't see any college or school guys roaming along the street just like in India. I don't see much couples having a relaxed walk. All i can see is some girls and ladies coming out with their dogs to let it shit outside.

Next time when i come to USA i wish i should be with my wife to have a great time here than being alone.

My Laptop has completed one year of Service

I could say Laptop as my second costliest purchase i made on my salary till date. I always had a good image on DELL as most of my colleagues gave good feedback. So without any confusion i went for DELL and purchased directly through DELL representative. Now i am completely satisfied with its performance except that i didnt use it effectively till date.

As most of us do, I used it for hearing music, watching movies, cricket matches online and some useless browsing. Every time when i think i want to do something with it i always fail.

I must get complete satisfaction within next one year with the way i use it. Lets see...

Horrible Cloudless days in Chennai

Every year, during the summer time in chennai i use to hear from people or even i personally feel that this summer heat is unbearable compared to last summer. Some few years back it would be like only during the 'Agni Natchathiram' days the temperature would reach the peak. Then it slides down. But now i feel the whole summer from April to July looks like 'Agni Natchathiram' days.

To me its unbearable. The blistering sun seems to be violent to us. I get drenched if i walk for just five minutes in the radiant sunlight. Sometimes my heart beat increases because of the sweat. I could sense i get more anger without any fair reason. Though i take coconut water whenever possible, i am getting addicted to cool drinks.

Air conditioner has become a mandatory equipment to bye pass the summer.Again this instrument does not come for the free of cost. Air Conditioner has some share in increasing the global warming. If this continues i wonder how chennai (or india i can say) would be after five or six years? What if at one stage the whole place get ablaze when temperature goes out of control.

We as a people must take precarious action to fight against the heat. We must bring a green revolution vehemently. As much possible Air Conditioner must be avoided as it further affects the global warning apart from giving comfort to us. Instead we have many other natural ways of keeping the room cool.

God must save us.

I bought Reebok Shoe!!

Three days back i bought Reebok Shoe for Rs 3500. Its a very high budget canvas to me,but then i went for it as i had Reebok gift voucher for Rs 2500. Never in my life i worn a branded shoe. Now i decided i wont go out of branded shoe or chappals for that case in the future. I am feeling such level of comfortability and weightlessness from Reebok.

Go for branded materials guys. It pays you the comfort for the money you pay.

Why is that Chaaya at Nair kadai always tasty?

I always wonder when it comes to tea kadai, Nair Tea Kadai is what comes to my mind. I remember in my college days, we would have our evening tea at Manikandan tea shop at Radha nagar, chromepet which is a Nair kadai. That time one glass tea was 3 Rs and SP Tea was 5 Rs. Now probably it would have got doubled. But the tea would a top class one.

Now i am residing at Thiruvanmiyur. Again here i am finding a Nair tea shop which stands outstanding among our other tea shops.

Why is that Nair's Tea is so special?

What Dhoni can do? He is at his best

Day before yesterday, Indian cricket once again faced a humiliating exit from World Cup T20 2010. Certainly India does not deserve to qualify for the semi final which i could sense in the way they bowled and fielded in all the three matches of Super 8 league.

After reading the interviews and comments by the Senior cricketers, i really dont understand why almost everyone blast at Dhoni? I feel the squad that went to play some sensible cricket, had only Dhoni apart from Raina who has put all his 100% effort.Gambhir's running between the wickets, yuvraj's fielding, Zaheer Khan's pathetic bowling, Vijay's thoughtless batting and worst of all an unwatchable fielding by the entire team has left the team down.

But i wonder what Dhoni can do? His captaincy on the field was good and he always stands as an example in both batting and fielding. What else can we expect from a Captain. Its the responsibility of each team member to take it seriously and play. The body language of Yuvraj and Gambhir clearly shows they are not giving their 100%.Same is the case of other players too.

And where did the IPL came here? We had a very worst experience in World Cup 2007 at the same Carribean and there was no IPL those days. Players from every country are playing IPL. Take Sri lanka for example. More than half of their players have played in IPL and now they are in semi final. IPL is again a cricket tournament. Blaming IPL is a very lame excuse that anyone can give.

BCCI must first appoint coaches exclusively for bowling and fielding. They must build at least two grounds in India with bouncy and fast pitch. Players must be trained to play pull shot well in Ranji Trophy level.

I hope India will come back in the Next World cup well with all the necessary changes needed in their side

Stepping into Blogging

What a way to start my blogging!! Just about to type my first sentence, there came the call my most beloved asking 'What are you doing?'.
I am not going to start my blog narrating about my school and college days as it was as funny and thrilling as everyone had. So i would share what ever i experience which i feel interesting and fun filled too from now on...See you...
